Step 1: The Application

Although the application process for the Miss NJ USA pageant hasn't officially opened, the website says I can "submit an application now for priority consideration," and to be honest, I'm getting a little impatient. This impatience is the main reason behind why I joined in with the girls who have been anticipating this glorious pageant weekend their entire lives, and submitted my picture before applications were even being considered. I say "submitted my picture" as if that's all I had to do, but in reality, they also needed my name, age, address and phone number. And let me tell you, those were the most stressful 5 lines of text I've ever written. For the first time since kindergarten, misspelling my name became a legitimate fear.

Now all that I can do is sit and wait, hoping I get called for a phone interview. Fingers crossed.
